Please rate my draft - WHIR

Postby oldmanbean » Sun Mar 29, 2009 11:13 pm

Well, my main want went 3 picks before me, so that screwed up my plans, and I am not sure how I did on backup. My sig has my whole team, here is a list of my picks and the round taken. I think I made a mistake with Floyd, as I passed over Josh Johnson. Pena went before I could take him, and I let Sean Marshall go. Otherwise I feel like I got the best available at the time.

Thank you for your comments

i think your outfield looks strong. you also have some good pitchers thrown in. i think overall, you did pretty well. you have lots of extra positions it seems, so maybe you could look to trade to boost where you have a weakness.

help me please: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=374802

I agree your OF is tremendous. As far as the rest of your team goes, your MI is solid. Your corners are a ?, Banking on Sandoval being the real deal is a slight risk but you have to like what you have seen thus far and Pauly needs to return to form, but he is another year older. Obviously you are set a backstop. SP, yikes you are investing an awful lot on young arms, but you have some good ones. I love Shields but am less than impressed with Lee. I like Danks (nice arm) and to a lesser extent Floyd but as you noted would rather have Johnson's arm. I love Scherzer and if he gets 180-200 innings will give you 200 plus K's, but thats iffy with his arm concerns, but where in the world are your saves going to come from. Motte is a nice player at this point, but will only get so far with one pitch.

I would look to move one of your OF (McClouth) to upgrade at one of your ? positions.

Good Luck

thanks for an in-depth answer! We are a straight points league, so many people do not have a reliever at all. Since a few of my starters are 5th, it would help to have a reliever to fill in when needed. I am tendering an offer now for Davis, if it falls through I may try for a nice pitcher, but I don't like to trade pitching until after a month, to see where they are heading.
