I've read different things on who is actually starting in Bal and who isn't. I think it goes Option A: CF Adam Jones RF Nick Markakis LF Luke Scott/Pie(Platoon) DH Wigginton
Option B: But I've also read: CF Adam Jones RF Nick Markakis LF Felix Pie DH Luke Scott Wigginton - super utility
Is this there Batting Order? 2B Brian Roberts CF Adam Jones RF Nick Markakis 1B Aubrey Huff 3B Melvin Mora DH Luke Scott SS Cesar Izturis C Gregg Zaun LF Felix Pie
Or is this there Batting Order? 1 Brian Roberts 2 Melvin Mora 3 Nick Markakis 4 Aubrey Huff 5 Ty Wigginton 6 Adam Jones 7 Luke Scott 8 Gregg Zaun 9 Cesar Izturis
I think you'll see a lot of platooning in Baltimore. The first lineup is definitely incorrect, since Pie and Scott are both L. Against righties, I think you will typically see Pie in LF, Huff at 1B, and Scott at DH. Against lefties, at least one of those three will probably sit with Wiggy taking their spot. Wiggy will also got chances to play by spelling Mora and also sitting one of those other three. But, a lot of that will depend on how well Pie plays. If he does not produce Wiggy could step into a regular starting role.
On the lineup versus righties, the first 6 in the first lineup look right, but it will probably be Zaun, Pie, Izturis after that.

This is dated by a couple of weeks, but I read that Freel could be expected to platoon with Pie.
Since Pie has fallen on his face, and Wigginton is probably best suited in a super utility role, any chance that if Reimold rakes in AAA he is called up with Matt Wieters. He CRUSHED the ball in the Spring and posted a sweet line in AA (87-25-84 .284/.367/.501/.868 with a tremendous BB:K 63:82). If the O's are serious about competing, they will have to absolutely rake since their pitching is abysmal. Little help here GTWMA?

I've been saying they should give Reimold a shot for a year and a half (OK, he was injured part of that time, but I think the Orioles baby their prospects way too much).
Pie's got no options, so I think he stays despite his stuggles. He'll get a few months to see if he can contribute, and if he doesn't his time will be eaten by Wiggy, Scott, and Freel. I'm not sure how many super-utility guys the O's keep. I would hope that any struggles or injuries will open up time for Reimold, but I don't know. I don't think he has a huge ceiling, but I think he could definitely be a decent player.
