12-team 6x6 Roto KEEPER League WHIR

Postby ThumperHawk » Sun Mar 29, 2009 7:28 pm

I play in a 6x6 12-team keeper league where the keeper penalty is graded (anywhere from 2-6 rounds). Keepers from last year are indicated below (max 5 per year). The extra categories are OPS and INN. Let me know what you think.

C Ryan Doumit
1B Adrian Gonzalez
2B Rickie Weeks
3B David Wright
SS J.J. Hardy
OF B.J. Upton (keeper)
OF Corey Hart
OF Hunter Pence (keeper)
OF Cameron Maybin (keeper)
U Alex Rodriguez
DH Carlos Delgado

SP Chad Billingsley (keeper)
SP James Shields
SP Max Scherzer
SP Jonathan O. Sanchez
SP Andy Sonnanstine
SP Micah Owings
RP Brian Fuentes
RP George Sherill/Chris Ray

Bench
OF Ryan Church
OF Denard Span
SS/3B Brandon Wood (keeper)
3B Ian Stewart
3B Andy LaRoche
3B David Freese

Bullpen
SP Brett Anderson
SP Trevor Cahill
RP Sherill/Ray

I'm probably going to have to waiver some of my 3B depth to pick up an extra closer (Corpas, Villanueva) or starter (Wellmeyer, Wolf). Let me know what you think. ;-D

Sorry, it's a 12-team league. Will edit original post.

Your hitting is stacked. Your pitching is suspect after Bills/Shields. Mad Max and Sanchez have lots of upside but are far from sure things. Maybe try to flip Maybin for an equal quality pitcher keeper. I've never done a keeper so I find it hard to give advice. Good luck.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

I think you have a solid draft IF they all perform as expected and not get injured. You have a very risky group with huge upside. The only thing I don't like about your team is Doumit. I don't think he is a very well panned out Catcher and I think you can get better at a good price this year. I also don't like your bench. So if a player goes down for an injury you better have a plan cuz i don't think you have much depth.

I would also try to find an underrated pitcher that should give you quality numbers for some of your extra batting depth. Too many things have to go right I think to count on them all.

Nice lineup, although i would find a backup/replacement for Weeks. I just don't feel that guy is ever going to breakout.

Your SP needs some tweaking IMO. I have a bad feeling about Sherzer's injury status, as much as I love the guy. That leaves you with some serviceable but uninspiring SP. You may need to make a deal later on, swap some hitting for pitching. But wait until you see how guys are panning out. No need to panic early.

Help with mine?
