I don't think any of those decisions is awful...

I would probably have preferred to go a different way than Rollins with the first pick. I think Phillips is a little behind Pedroia, but when you need power, since you drafted Rollins first, having Phillips instead of Pedroia isn't going to kill you. I'm not wildly high on Mauer, but if he's healthy, then he is better than Iannetta. As for Taveras-Morrow, Morrow is going to close, but there is no telling when that plug will get pulled. I don't think he is solid, and Taveras is capable of .280 with 60 steals. So, none of the decisions was a great one, but none of them were awful....

What does the rest of your team look like?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Rollins at #11, in fact I'd take him as early as #8. 290/20/70/100+ with 40+ SB from the SS position is gold. Rollins isn't your problem, however what you did after him very well could be.

Personally I wouldn't have gone after Phillips or Pedroia in the 3rd, rather a power producer since you went Rollins in round 1. Any one of Holliday, Lee, Fielder, Morneau, or the like would have been my choice there. Guys like Kelly Johnson and Jose Lopez are much, much better value in rounds 13-15 for your 2nd base slot.

Sure I'd prefer Iannetta many rounds later over an injured Mauer (I'm an Iannetta owner and I'm high on him), but think of it like this. A healthy Joe Mauer in round 11 is an absolute STEAL. Hope for the best on Mauer and you could possibly have the steal of the draft. If not, I'm sure a guy like Jeff Baker is probably available who could be a huge sleeper this year.

In a H2H league, Taveras is a nice player to have on your bench. It appears Morrow will be the Seattle closer, and unless that's what you were hoping to draft him for, I wouldn't lose much sleep over taking Taveras instead. There are several undecided closer situations and injury concerns around the league right now. Besides, closers pop up all the time throughout the season. If you were contemplating drafting Morrow as a starter, consider yourself lucky.

Overall I don't think it's as bad as you make it seem. Of course I haven't seen the rest of your draft to know for sure.
