spreadsheet woes

I have a spreadsheet that I've used for several years. I've got tabs auction values, every team roster in a total summary, and every position in other individual tabs. I have every position linked into my auction values.

Here is what I do during a live draft. In my auction values tab I have two extra columns with team that won the bid and the value purchased. I highlight the row. I copy that row and paste the link into my team roster page. It then calculates money left over and other things.

There has got to be a easier way than copy and pasting links. I'm sure there has got to be a way but just don't know how to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i think i know what you're asking. for

say this is your 1st sheet:

A1	B1
initial amount to spend	$3,120 
left to spend	$3,015

and this is your 2nd:

A1	B1
Player Name	Price
X	78
Y	14
Z	13

the cell with $3015 above will calculate automatically for you if you use this formula:

=B2-SUM(Sheet2!B:B)


a 2nd way to do it if you just want information to just automatically show up on your 1st sheet based on what you did with the 2nd sheet such as player's name, etc:

in your first sheet, click the cell you want the information to show up in, hit the equals key on your keyboard and then click over to your 2nd sheet and left click once on the cell you want the information to be copied from.

once you have that, you can copy and paste that "formula" to the rest of the cells in your 1st sheet. the formula looks like this:

=Sheet2!A1

hope that helps, i'm no excel genius but that's how i would do it.

here is the scenerio:

Worksheet 1
Player Pos Team Who Won Bid How much for?
Pujols 1b Team A $37

$37 is added on the worksheet during the draft on worksheet 1.
and appears on worksheet 2 by formula(as seen below).

So if I understand, each team has a worksheet and you need each of these team worksheets to know what players are won at auction by that team. You're going to need a combination of formulas including, likely, VLOOKUP formulas to get the right players to the team worksheet. Is that what you are trying to accomplish? It is a little complicated.

Worksheet 2 is a Full Team Roster page. I was attempting to be able to put the players in specific position locations when I get this part down as well.

All teams are all Worksheet 2

For Example:

and so forth
