You know what you're getting with Aramis. .300/30+/100+
Davis will still see some growing pains and although its a possibility he matches Aramis' power numbers he'll do it with a much lower average. With Bengie easily replaced the trade is a no brainer IMO
Not to belabor the point - and I'm sure it's moot, as the poster has probably gone though with the deal, but I'm curious...
To those respondents who said make the deal, then go for RP help, just how was he supposed to do that? His only excess is in OF - but in a 10-team mixed league that starts 3 OF, he's not going to get anything back in return. Possibly Ludwick has trade value to someone desperate for power - but, again in that league, you're probably not going to find a team thats short of power.
He has (had?) one trade chip - Sandoval. Even in a 10-team, 1-catcher league, there are going to be three, maybe four owners who are not going to be happy with their lot. It might have even been the team he's trading with - certainly he values Molina (or has a man-crush on Davis).
First game is in what - 10 days? Is the trade offer with A-ram going away? If not, perhaps there'd be enough time to "check the waters" before diving in. In all likelihood, the RP situation is going to have to be solved via Waivers, and in a 10-team league, that's not such a bad prospect. Still though....
I think that the value here is too good to pass up. It's one of those deals you do even if you weren't looking for it; you dive in head first on this and worry about everything later. Just my $.02.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
