Alexei in Round 2, Figgins in Round 5, Tulo in Round 5, and Delgado in Round 6 were all pretty bad picks. Hamels in Round 5, Beltran late in Round 2, McLouth in Round 7, and both Ludwick and Bruce in Round 10 were nice ones.

I think playing with MI and CI yet only 3 OF creates a pretty large imbalance in value between IF's and OF's, but that pick still stands out. I also don't like McCann in round 3 by the same gentleman, but who knows...he could have the last laugh. I can't wait until opening day!

So I'm definitely excited to be apart of this league and having the chance to take down NZF. I was pretty nervous about this draft, and was afraid I'd just vomit out a group of players that would leave me so far behind I should just throw in the towel. Really, I left content, but not thrilled with my team.

From what I understand, this league is extremely active, so I took that into account for my draft strategy. I wanted to have a solid core of pitching to rely on, as I believe that almost every team will keep their eye out for the new hot pitching prospect that comes along. That's alot of competition for a very few guys. I also wanted to have a strong infield and pick OFers relatively late.

I think I have a team that leaves me in a solid position to compete, though I definitely need to stay on my toes and make the right moves this year. My OF is going to be a rotation of guys with a hope that somebody breaks out somewhere.

Having the CI and MI spots with only 3 OF'ers definitely played a part in some players getting picked earlier than normal, and Kolb said during the draft that he really liked Alexei.

As far as Tribe-Fan, I won't question his draft. He knows his stuff and usually finishes near the top. I think he's beat me all but one year, not that that is saying much

If there's one thing NZF has opened my eyes up to with Roto leagues, the draft is only a small part of winning. Constant roster management is much more important than I had previously thought. It's easy to do it in the beginning while the baseball season is still fresh and exciting, but something else entirely once that excitement wears off and you get into the dog days of summer. I guess that's when the really good managers separate themselves from the pack.

This is just my opinion but constant roster churning minimizes the importance of the draft. The draft should be just as important as in season management. If there is some cost to making the moves or a moves limit then that definitely makes it more challenging.
