if your looking for a good pitcher who is underrated because he tends to get alot of loses eventhough he pitches well, the first name that comes to mind is Matt Cain from San Francisco.
2007= 3.65 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 163 K in 200 IP ..but he went 7-16
2008= 3.76 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 186 K in 217 IP ..but he went 8-14
he should not have had such a bad W/L record in either of those seasons.
in a league where W and L count some might lose interest in someone like Cain, but based on his numbers he should have better W/L record than he has had.
another good pitcher who hasnt done well in W/L is Chris Young from San Diego.
2007= 3.12 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 167 K in 173 IP ..but he went 9-8
2008= 3.96 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 93 K in 102 IP ..but he went 7-6
in 2008 he had trouble mid season with an injury, but came back strong in September- 2.38 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, 27 K in 34 IP.
