Rotoworld:
One night after sitting against right-hander Felix Hernandez, Delmon Young is hitting sixth against left-hander Erik Bedard.
Young is in something of a rotation with Denard Span, Carlos Gomez, Michael Cuddyer and Jason Kubel for four starting spots, so while he won't be in the lineup every day, he should still get ample opportunity to play. The left-handed hitting Kubel is on the bench Tuesday.

From the local Star Tribune:

"The belief was that Jason Kubel didn't start Tuesday because tough lefthander Erik Bedard was on the mound for Seattle. Not so.

"As I told Kubel, it isn't a lefthanded thing, it's just a mixture tonight," Gardenhire said. "I wanted Delmon [Young] out there. [Michael] Cuddyer can DH.""

He's going to sit a time or two a week but he is the DH right now.

It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow night against Washburn. Or Buerhle this weekend. I think it's almost for certain that one of the two lefties (Span or Kubel) will be sitting when they are up against LHP. And Span brings good defense that is needed by the Twins.

From the looks of it Kubel is deeply rooted in a Platoon. See above posts.

Anybody know why Kubel is the DH against a lefthander tonight? I thought he was 'deeply rooted' in a platoon?

UPDATE: Kubel now 4 for 4 tonight, including 2 for 2 against the lefty. The guy can hit...see above posts. God I hope I'm not jinxing him!

Kubel played LF yesterday (against a righty) because Gomez and Young have gotten off to a terrible start. You might see more days off for both of them.

Kubel is DH'ing against a lefty today to give Span a day off.

Kubel might be forcing himself into the everyday lineup which might be bad news for Young and Gomez and to a lesser extent Cuddyer (no days off yet).
