Tavaras for Lester???

I need stolen bases to round out my team and the guy wants Jon Lester straight up. Is this an even trade? I have Cole, Kaz, Peavy, Carpenter, Bedard, Vazquez, Harden, Volstad and Oliver Perez as my starters.

Lester is more valuable than Taveras but probably not as much as their ADPs would indicate. All things being equal, I would probably not trade him straight up. But if this is a Roto league and you're hurting in the SB dept. than I probably would.

As said, if it's a roto league that makes this much closer but even then I don't think Taveras is worth Lester (in any other league it isn't even close)

In a H2H 5x5 league, it could be close, particularly if you are looking to stream starters. I think Taveras bounces back to hit about .280, and will steal over 60 bases again, while scoring about 80-90 runs. That's a solid hitter, though he will have virtually no RBI's and no HR's. Lester will be good, and is probably worth more than Taveras, but if you really need steals and have the pitching you do, then trading Lester for Taveras is not a bad deal.
