I don't love it against a pretty good offense.

Perlick what do you think of laffey for Wednesday? He's getting the call up to face the Royals. Generally groundballers dominate KC, and he showed flashes of brilliance last year.

Wednesday April 15th

1. Aaron Laffey CLE - Road vs. KC (Sidney Ponson)

-By Request. Laffey is a soft-tossing lefty so it's unlikely he'll ever have the kind of strikeout numbers to make him a fantasy asset. But the weather is cold in KC right now, the balls aren't going anywhere. I like him for a QS against a KC who are really struggling to find a groove.
-Prediction- W, 6IP, 6h, 2ER, 1BB, 2k

2. Joe Blanton PHI - Road vs, WAS (Shairon Martis)

-The win factor alone makes this worthy of a spot start. Blanton pitched poorly in his first start but he's a league average pitcher so he'll bounce back. On an unrelated note: Is there a worse color-commentator in the major leagues than Rob Dibble? It's not even the homer-ness I can't stand it's the dreadful use of "we" as if he is part of the team. Or unnecessarily criticizing the other team's players. Yuck, this franchise does nothing right.
-Prediction- W, 6IP, 7h, 3ER, 2BB, 4k

3. Ross Ohlendorf PIT - Home vs. HOU (Mike Hampton)

-You have to ride the Houston thing while it's cold and tomorrow should give us an indication if it's just lefties they can't hit, or righties as well. Either way as Bull Durham said, "You don't mess with a streak." I think I'll withhold my love-making until after Houston scores more than 7 runs. It could be a long dry spell.
-Prediction- ND, 6.1IP, 6h, 2ER, 1BB, 3k

Jarrod Washburn is option 4 but he probably got picked up by a few idiots after his last start.

Is Armando Gallaraga not typically a free agent or do you not like the start tomorrow?

With the postponement today it is likely Gallaraga will start @ Seattle on Thursday which would be a better start IMO than one against the White Sox. That is unless they skip Porcello.

I have a window to work on Thursday so I'll do it in a bit but I can't recommend Gallaraga. Yahoo says he's owned in 84% of leagues so that seems like too much.

Thursday April 16th

1.Eric Stults LAD - Home vs. SFG (Barry Zito)

-Stults is the only one I'm recommending unless you either have Kenshin Kawakami available or want to really make things interesting against the Astros again this time with Jeff Karstens. I like the fact that Stults is a lefty so that should keep the monster that is Travis Ishikiawa in check. Plus the Giants haven't exactly been lighting it up either. I'm a believer in Pablo Sandoval because the kid can mash, but I think maybe he was slightly over-rated for his first full season. I see a start close to what Stults gave in his last outing.
-Prediction- ND, 5.2IP, 5h, 3ER, 2BB, 4k

We're all caught up. ;-D
