Obviously it's late, and I'm not going to offer any in-depth numbers here, but if you can make a move in the next 23 minutes, here are a few I'm going with:

- Chad Gaudin, SD vs. FL: Facing a Marlins team that tends to K a ton and tends to flail.
- Chris Volstad, FL @ SD: His biggest problem is giving up the home run, which might be tempered by playing against the weak San Diego offense in that huge pitcher's paradise.

I scooped up Stauffer for tonight purely on the fact that he was facing the Marlins, and it's turning out okay so far. He may not get the win, but good peripherals and a handful of strikeouts.

If Blanton is available, snag him too - the Phils have been dominating the Cubs, and the Chicago offense isn't looking great.

I also like Dallas Braden against Minny, for reasons that I can't explain.

If you really feel like taking a flier, why not Ollie Perez vs. Natstown? If he's ever going to have a dominant start, this could be it.

That's it for me.

GiantsFan14 had a nice writeup on him as a two-start pitcher this week in the double dippers column. ;-D

I actually picked up Blanton. He still makes me nervous though. He's prone to the long ball and the Cubs are an offense that can explode at a moment's notice.

As a Mets fan...no!

How about Maholm vs. Brewers or Suppan vs. Pirates? Anyone like either in this matchup?

Maholm may be good because the Brewers struggle against lefties and Maholm has been solid at home.

After making Bronson Arroyo and now tonight John Lannan both look like Cy Young over the last few weeks, is it safe to spot start just about anyone against the Mets?

(I only mention those two as examples because they both happened against me!)

Considering the Mets' AAA lineup, it's safe to spot start your grandmother against them.

I think you have that backwards. The Brewers tend to crush lefties and Maholm does not have good splits against them. I would play it safe and sit him, despite the home start.
