Picked him up last year. We can keep players up to four years. We are also allowed to keep only ONE minor leaguer. He was one of my 9 keepers when we froze our rosters so if I decide NOT to keep him I can pick up one of the players I dropped. Scherzer, Myers and Saunders were my pitchers. Pena , J, Lopez and Travis Snider were my hitters. If I decide to keep Price I can replace after the draft with a pitcher that didn't get drafted. BUT if I keep Price I can't go after Matt Weiters. Our first round is loaded with excellent players and the second is pretty good too.The third round the quality will drop off . I have the second pick in the third ( 26th overall ).If I decided to drop Price I would try to grab Weiters with that spot. This is a 12 team 25 man roster. No bench, standard 5x5 scoring 9 keepers draft 16. Keep in mind Price will only have 2 plus years left when he coms up later this year. Weiters will have three plus years when he comes up later this year. I could use your thoughts with this. We draft next Sturday April 4th . I hope to hear from several of you guys.
Allowed to keep 1 minor leaguer but no bench? Does that minor leaguer take up one of your roster spots or do you have a special slot designated for him?
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
The minor leaguer does NOT count as a roster spot. If he comes up during the season we have to drop a player from the 25 man roster to keep him. Or drop the minor leaguer.
OK I would take Wieters then. I guess the decision for me would come down to how confident I was that I would get Wieters. If it seemed like a long shot, I'd stick with Price. In terms of fantasy, I believe Wieters has vastly more value potential than Price so I'd be gambling on that.

Well if I did drop Price I probably would keep Scherzer. The other thinng is if somebody takes Weiters before me it would have to be in the second round or the the first pick in the third. I doubt anybody would take him that early. I think there is too much good talent still in the second to reach for Weiters. I will post a list of the group I think will be in the second round just to shorten up this post.
Here are the top players avalible most likely to be second or third rounders. Javier Vazquez Brian Roberts Scott Kazmir Felix Hernendez Justin Morneau Victor Martinez Cory Hart Carlos Pena Vernon Wells Derek Lowe John Lackey Nelson Cruz Ichiro Garrett Atkins Torii Hunter Jermaine Dye Kelly Johnson Johnny Damon Andre Either
Yeah there's a lot of value there. I'd let Price go and probably not even care if I got Wieters.

Not to make things worse for you, but here is the news from rotoworld.
Scherzer is going to start the season on the DL, so this will be his last official outing of the spring. If he were to pitch in another major league game next week, he couldn't be retroactively placed on the DL.
Just keeping you informed.
