Dan Murphy seems to be a popular ADD. See any opening on this team for him. I was thinking about dropping Dickerson for him. If so, should I use a waiver claim (5th) or take a chance that he will clear waivers.
Thanks

you could drop the two previously mentioned or mccccccutcheonanandn..... is he even making the team? personally i could probably make the pirates team, but who knows....
Definitely pick up Murphy! He's hitting 2nd in the order for the powerful Mets lineup. It's up to you on who to drop...down to McCutcheon or Dickerson. Dickerson's 18 strikeouts in Spring ball are of a serious concern though. All depends if batter strikeouts count in your league.
But Dickerson's competition for LF is Johnny Gomes and Jerry Hairston, make what you will out of that. Gomes's defense is spotty and Hairston has no upside so the Reds may give LF to Dickerson.
Ingoring that McCutcheon is a Pirate and Dickerson a Red, I'd take McCutcheon as he seems to be a more complete player. But both could spend time in AAA so it may not matter much either way who you drop.
Just an FYI: Since Manuel mentioned Murphy in the 2-hole, Castillo had actually batted there far more often.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
And when they've been in the lineup together, Castillo has gotten the nod in the 2-hole.

Back to the original point of this thread, regardless if they share time in 2 hole or not he still benefits from every time he hits in 2 hole and thus makes him much more valuable than McCutcheon or Dickerson.
