Morneau for Sabathia WHIR

Postby Mashug » Sat Mar 28, 2009 10:26 pm

I was just offered CC for Morneau. I'm thinking of countering with Marneau and Lilly for CC and Carlos Guillen. I think he's due for a comeback. Otherwise, I can move things around a bit and slot Lopez in with either Barmes or Stewart at 2b, or Loney at 1B and Sandoval at CI. Is all this worth it?

Meh. I'd stay away from Carlos Guillen.

CC for Morneau is fair. I don't think your pitching is that weak though. Burnett, Beckett and Kazmir should give you lots of Ks, unfortunately all three pitch in the AL East and are injury concerns. Interestingly enough, you'd be trading for another pitcher from the AL East.

How's the WW in your league? Any of the likes of Porcello, Brett Anderson or Jordan Zimmerann available? If they are still out there, I'd rather keep Morneau and gamble on one of those high upside guys.

All three are available as of now. The wire opens up to free agency tomorrow. I would think Zimmerman would be the guy to grab.

I would keep Morneau. Your pitchers are pretty strong as they are, and some newbies will likely be valuable on the waiver wire once the season starts. If you are confident in Guillen, then I'd do the combo offer, but if it was me, I'd much rather have Morneau.
