My Joe Nathan and Chris Ray for his Valverde and Hanrahan?!?

Postby baseketball4life » Sat Mar 28, 2009 5:40 pm

Who wins this deal? Nathan obviously a elite closer but is Chris Ray the closer in Baltimore? If not will he get 30 SV anyways? Valverde seems like a lock for 40 SV and Hanrahan should get about 30 SV right? What should i do??? i will help in return just leave link

I say do this deal. Ray is not the closer, right now any way. And you get two closers for one.

I say, over all, assuming this is a normal 5x5, it is like this...

(median draft pos)

Nathan (63) >> Valverde (112)

Ray (303) < Hanrahan (199) but only by alittle

Sherrill has been sucking it up this spring, and didnt do all that well last year. here is his most recent quote on his compition with Ray:

"He (Ray) has looked good this spring," Sherrill said. "If that’s something they want to do, that’s fine. All I want to do is win. I don’t care what my title is." Sherrill has allowed 17 base runners in 5 1/3 innings of work and admitted Thursday that his mechanics aren't yet put together

you must be confused, I'm paying Nathan and Ray for the Valverde/Hanrahan/Volstad side... so you said it's not a good idea for me? league is h2h, 5x5, 14 teamer. I have Nathan, Heath Bell, and Ray (maybe closer?) as my closers. I think 3 is the best number to have is Ray going to close or not and even if he's not the closer do I still lose the trade?

I wouldn't. Nathan is a top 2 closer and Ray is a better pitcher than Hanrahan who should be closing soon enough.
