WW: Jesus Guzman??, Emilio Bonifacio??

Postby NCAARules » Sat Mar 28, 2009 5:36 pm

Hello All

12-team NL-Only roto: HR, RBI, OBP, Net Steals; W+QS, ERA, K-BB, Net Saves

Coming up on our first weekly transaction deadline (first chance to tinker after the draft - trades are prohibited until May 1).

At the auction I got stuck with crickets on my nomination of Blake DeWitt, and also got hung with McCutchen while trying to bid up the top-money guy. BUT, I really like McCutchen, and would like to figure out a way to keep him. I'm considering the following: cutting Balester from the minor league roster, and demoting McCutchen. Then picking up best available as the utility. Thinking about keeping Dewitt rostered for the moment.

We have an exceptionally deep league. Of the waiver wire guys available, only Bonifacio and Jesus Guzman intrigue me. But I'm really set with speed for the year, and I like the idea of Guzman as partial insurance on Sandoval. Also, if his power is for real and gets used this year, I could use the HR as I came up a little short of my goal based off projections. But if he doesn't make the 25-man roster, I don't think I'd keep him. Bonifacio seems like a lock for the 25-man, and an outside chance at starting - but would only help in SB - would hurt OBP.

OR? Pick up Emilio for DeWitt AND make the balester-guzman swap.

HELP!!! This group has been great thus far in answering questions, and I've tried to return the favor. Would love to get some input on how to proceed.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

I personally do not like Bonifacio...He has had 2 good games this spring..everything I have read about him is not favaorable...I would stick with DeWitt...As for Guzman ..he can flat out rake...if you are set and comfy with your starting pitching ...then take a chance on Guzman (His defense is whats holding him back fyi)
