Beltran for Roberts/Werth

Postby myroto83 » Sat Mar 28, 2009 3:09 pm

12 team mixed h2h league, 4OF with a CI and MI slot as well
I have Beltran,Hart,Pence,Hunter with Cruz as my Utility.
I currently have Hill as my 2b with M.Young as my MI
I need an upgrade at second base and like Werths upside. Also this is the first year in a keeper but we dont get to keep anyone drafted in the first 8 rounds. I really want B.Roberts but do you think I am giving up too much in Beltran for roberts/werth?

I'm not sure you actually upgrade overall that much. Beltran is clearly the best player in the deal. And I have zero confidence in Werth's ability to replicate last year's #s.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I like the deal. Worst case scenario is a downgrade from Beltran to Roberts, which isn't that bad of a deal. Werth won't produce like Beltran, but Roberts sure as heck will outproduce Hill.

Would I actually pull the trigger? I hate to be the one who loses the best player in the deal, but with the need for 3 MI's, maybe not a bad idea.

For Beltran, no way. I'd give up Hart and something for Werth and Roberts though. What is that guy thinking?
