The season hasn't started and one of my leagues is already falling apart...
Last week, the following trade was accepted in my league:
Chavez and M. Giles for Maddux, Walker and Castilla
The guy getting 3 players didn't drop anyone and the deal got cancelled. So, they tried to redo the deal and came up with:
Chavez and M. Giles for Castilla and Izzy
The problem comes now that the deal is accepted and finalized and the guy realizes he got Endy Chavez instead of Eric. Now he's complaining to the commish and threatening to drop all his players and do everything to screw the rest of the league unless something is done
I realize it was a sneaky move, but at what point does the guy accepting the trade have to take responsibility for not paying attention? Does he deserve some kind of remedy for his mistake?

They're both at fault for this one. First off that's just pathetic trying to sneak in Endy Chavez, just low. However the other guy should have seen what an amazing deal he was getting and been suspicious or at the very least actually checked up on a big deal and made sure everything was legit. Just seems like a crap situation for everybody. Sorry you got stuck with a league that has those kinds of players.

easy solution. lock that guys team. he can't drop anyone then. case closed. he was dumb for not picking up on the error. thankfully he wasn't giving up too much (izzy and castilla). in actuality i'd rather have giles over those two players anyways.

With Endy it's probably close to a legit deal, which it wasn't with Eric.

Even if it was Endy, he's still getting a good deal. Marcus Giles is worth more than Izzy, and Castilla doesn't change much. There are tons of better 3B's.
If it was Eric Chavez and Marcus Giles for Izzy and Castilla, then I would certainly hope your league would veto the deal. That's just ridiculous.

Shame on the owner crying foul for not checking the deal out thoroughly enough before accepting the deal. Buyer beware, he should know that.
Upon second glance, Izzy & old man Castilla for Marcus Giles ain't a bad deal. Its a health-risk closer and an aging 3B closer to retirement than his prime for a close to top tier 2B at the prime of his career. Quality at 2B is a heckuva lot less than 3B. I don't know that I wouldn't pass up getting Giles for Izzy & Vinny.

I tried to pull a fast one a while ago. In an auction league it was my turn to nominate and I called out "Charles DAvis...one dollar." I was hoping they all though I was picking a rookie out of my butt as I was prone to do (remember Brent Gates?). So the room goes silent and instead of the Commish going "One...two...SOLD!" he had the nerve to ask "Who is Charles Davis?"
Toast, I admitted it was Chile Davis.

thats what i was thinking. i think its funny that one owner thought he was completely hosing the other guy only to find out that he was the one on the wrong end of the deception. but since old man vinny is so far down on my 3b depth charts it basically just comes down to izzy vs giles and giles seems to be going higher in drafts.
