yeah, he'll chip away at Cesar Izturis's value though I hope not many people are stuck playing Izturis~.

Neither player is very good not did either have significant value.

It is hard to imagine what Ross Gload offers that Dallas McPherson doesn't though.

BitterDodgerFan wrote:havok, you claim he's got power, but from his minor league stats, he's never shown much power? you say he's hit for power in the winter leagues, (how many HRs?) but are you putting more stock in that than the large sample size of virtually no power in the past?

He's only 23 and his body type should equal more power as he gains muscle. He's listed at 5'10 195 and thats pretty impressive when you consider the speed he has. By the pictures I posted in my rankings, you can see he has a strong muscular frame that I think he builds on. The winter league numbers were something I noticed as I did the ranking but I have no idea where those stats are now. I expect you'll see more pop from him this year than you'll expect to see. Compound that with his speed potential and you might really have something. That being said, he should still be the starting 2B and they should move Uggla to 3B as the Marlins defense with Ramirez and Uggla is horrid.

i don't think gload is gonna be the starting 1st baseman. More so a Left bat off the bench.

Ability to play outfield? No idea. I agree that the Marlins were better off keeping McPherson.

No I dont' think he'll start either but with a $2M contract and trading a player to get him I have to assume they plan on playing him at least some. If I have to sit Bonifacio or Cantu a few extra times and I'm manager I can tell you who will lose playtime. They now have Helms who rakes lefties and Gload who is LH added to the mix. I just think it is unlikely that Bonifacio is a 160 game player with that roster. Little things like this can chip away at the value of marginal players.

Maybe as things stand now but Uggla and Cantu are very likely to be traded this year.
