News: The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that, with Gaby Sanchez optioned to Triple-A on Tuesday, Emilio Bonifacio will open the season as the starting third baseman for the Marlins. Dallas McPherson will also get time at the hot corner.
Analysis: Acquired from Washington in the trade that sent left-hander Scott Olsen and outfielder Josh Willingham to the Nationals, Bonifacio is a natural second baseman. The Marlins tried him at third base, and the project worked, as they clearly like his speed at the top of the batting order. He deserves a look in NL-only Rotisserie leagues, but not much more. McPherson has 40-homer potential, but he hasn't shown much power this spring and his strikeouts and low batting average have always held him back. He is nothing more than a last resort in NL-only leagues at this time.
I'll try and find the link... but I have read several times that they have thought of batting him leadoff in front of Hanley. I see him as a serious sb sleeper.

Anyone know if he can handle the bat?
A-
He batted leadoff today and should continue to do so.
Agreed...especially if he can hit .270 or so with a decent BB-K ratio...otherwise they may look for Maybin to leadoff. To be honest that's who I thought the leadoff guy was. So if Boniifio is the leadoff guy, who's in the 2 hole? Maybin?

i think i read somewhere that it's gonna be maybin, not too sure
My comment was more as a qualifier to the reader that some information was incorrect. But your correct on the posted date. Why they would have thought he was making the roster while hitting .194 with a .216 OBP is beyond me though.
