Postby amendt1 » Sat Mar 28, 2009 2:03 pm

I have keep these 5 players: Jose Reyes, David Wright, Jason Bay, Carlos Quentin, and Brandon Webb.

I have the 6th pick in 12 team head to head league snake draft and I wanted to find out what to players you would pick/target in the 6th and 7th rounds?

Some of the players that might be available

Jacoby Elisbury, Matt Kemp, David Ortiz, Carlos Lee, Russell Martin, Geovany Soto, Scott Kazmir, Roy Oswalt, AJ Burnett, Jon Lester, Edison Volquez, Justin Verlander, John Lackey, Cliff Lee, Felix Hernandez, Jonathan Papelbon, Brad Lidge, Mariano Rivera

Fantasy sports are ruled by the 50-50-90 rule...

Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong

6th i would target C.Lee/Martin/Soto/Burnett/Lester in that order and in the 7th id look for of the list you have King Felix/Papelbon/Rivera/Lidge in that order... im not a big fan of taking early closers tho, so if theres something else there i would go for that over a closer... steer clear of Lackey (DLed), Volquez (not enough value to go that high) and Verlander (can again get him a couple rounds later IMO)...

help me out...

Carlos Lee,

Matt Kemp,

Jacoby Elisbury,
David Ortiz,
Russell Martin,
Geovany Soto,

Roy Oswalt,
Scott Kazmir,
Felix Hernandez,
Jonathan Papelbon,

Jon Lester,
John Lackey,
Edison Volquez,
Brad Lidge,
Mariano Rivera

Cliff Lee,
AJ Burnett,

Justin Verlander,

Basically, you don't pass on Lee or Kemp if they are still there. After that, it gets more wide open. I think taking a catcher would be a good option since you start 2 of them, you don't need Ellsbury at all, and Ortiz is aging. For the next pick, you're probably looking at a starter but it's too murky to really predict that far ahead.

Yeah, that's the way I'd rank them for the draft. I'd bump Felix over Kazmir, but other than that, it looks good.
