Trade for Doumit

Postby misterf » Sat Mar 28, 2009 11:58 am

I have Weiters as my catcher in a 10-team, 5x5 roto keeper league. So I need a plan "b" until he getts called back up.

One team in the league has both Soto and Doumit, so I think I can pry Doumit away from him. I'm thinking of making three offeres to him:

1) Lastings Milledge for Doumit
2) Brian Fuentes for Doumit
3) Connor Jackson & Kevin Gregg for Doumit

I have plenty of outfielders, so I wont really miss Milledge or Jackson. At closer, I have Soria, Fuentes, Hanrahan, Bell, and (maybe) Gregg. But we can only start a maximum of 3 closers in our league. So losing Fuentes would hurt, but not as much as in most leagues.

What do you think? Are these offers enough to get Doumit? Am I overpaying? Are any of these offers insulting?

Thanks in advance...WHIR

i dont think hed go for any of them, besides, he knows doumit is gonna be your starter so he would want a starter in return. i would offer a better OF.

Milledge > Doumit

I would try one of the other 2 trades...

Whats on the WW? I bet Ivan Rodriguez is out there... He should be able to hold down the fort till june or whenever BAL gets the clue...
Fantasy sports are ruled by the 50-50-90 rule...

Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong

I would only really feel comfortable with option 3.
If he doesn't go for it, then hit the WW.

agreed with this... really no sense in giving your oppenent the upper hand in this situation (he knowing you need a starting C til weiters is up) so i would actually just hit the WW, Gregg WILL be the closer for the cubs, Marmol couldn't hold the position down last year so how is he going to this year? hes a long inning/setup guy, and why else would the cubbies get Gregg?... hit the WW for a Peirzynski, Ramon Hernandez, Shoppach, Napoli, Pudge, Navarro in that order...

help me out...

I say grab a guy on the WW ... it will only be a bit until Wieters is back up -- maybe mid-late May... someone servicable like Hernandez could do for now.
