Traded: Peavy + K. Johnson for Pedroia + Anthony Reyes

Hello

This is a salary based keeper league. I have a very deep pitching staff (Lincecum, Gallardo, Cliff Lee, Morrow, Myers, and Volquez). I wanted to upgrade Kelly Johnson ($30) and I figured that if I packaged Peavy ($35) that I would still have a strong pitching staff, but would upgrade my 2B now and for the future (Pedroia $10). The keepers salaries really do not matter until next year because we have had our draft.

I picked up Reyes in the open roster spot.

What do you think of the deal?

i don't think your staff is as deep as you think it is outside of Linc and Gallardo there are alot of ?'s... i do not think Lee comes close to what he did last year, Myers hasn't been the same pitcher for a couple years now, Morrow-seattle is just trying to mess this kid up, talking about moving him back to the pen, if they do stick a fork in him his arm is already not the strongest and going from SP to RP to SP to RP will destroy that kids arm, Volquez a young guy but i think the 2nd half of last year is the pitcher he is, maybe a bit better but not by much... all that said the only reason i do this is because of the cost of players... HOW IN THE HELL is Kelly Johnson $30?!?! thats insane... i do it cuz you get a top 2B in return and shed damn $20 in the process... good trade for you, but don't think your staff is that strong IMO...

My opinion of your staff's strength would depend on how many teams are in your league, but yeah... Pedroia at $10 is pretty delish.
