I want to get Cabrera. I'm willing to trade Ordonez. What could I do to get him? The guy is loaded at 1B. Option 1: Offer Ordonez and Chris Davis for Cabrera (Is it too much, with Davis' potential?) Option 2: Offer Ordonez and Jose Lopez Option 3: You tell me. I need help!!!!!!!!!!
I would absolutely not even give either offer a second look if I was that guy. You'll have to think more about his needs instead of only yours (and in this case, it's not really a need, it's a want). Just like the other guy said, do you really need him when you have C.Davis & Morneau? It's pretty much completely unlikely for him to want Ordonez with an outfield of Kemp, Hart & Rios + Ryan Howard sitting in Util.
