Atkins or Burrell

Postby guyincognito » Sat Mar 28, 2009 12:16 am

Looking to make a trade with an owner willing to move Atkins or Burrell. He's expressed interest in my Aviles, we just have to figure out the other pieces to the puzzle. My roster is below. Given what I currently have, I was originally thinking that I need a power OF, so Burrell fits the bill and probably won't cost as much. But if I could get Atkins, does it make more sense to go for him since we have a DH and Util slot and he qualifies at 1B and 3B as well?

Out of those two I like Atkins...He has dual position in many formats and plays his home games in coors field...Burrell moved out of the phone booth stadium in phi into TB which will hurt his overall numbers!

If you could take Atkins for Aviles, that would be highway robbery. Unfortunately I think Burrell is more in line with his value. If you can get a great buy low candidate in Atkins then go for it. Even Burrell would be worth it, though his batting average will be poor. That way you can move either Hermida of Sheff out of there.

As for replacing the 2B if you need to, Mark Ellis and Mike Fontenot are sneaky picks that may be as good as Aviles.
