I personally would stick with LaRoche. Helton's best days are way behind him....

I asked the same question last week and I've decided that best thing to do is grab LaRoche in the draft and pick Helton later and use Helton until LaRoche gets hot in the 2nd half. Helton is feeling much better this spring and is showing signs of his old self. He could be a player that is not being drafted because of his past and could be a potential sleeper.

Helton might have the higher AVG but he wont have anywhere near the HR. if you can keep LaRoche on your bench early in the season and then put him in the lineup once he heats up he could be gold.
not only is Helton old and injury prone, hes not the same type of power hitter. even if Helton is healthy all season hes not going to have more than 20 HR. LaRoche is pretty much a lock for 20+ maybe even closer to 30.
help?

I hope the astericks show whom you kept entering the year and not whom you intend to keep for 2010.
I don't make this move. Helton could be back and hitting well, but he's going to have his games played limited to keep him healthy, too, remember: he's going to be less than a regular player whether or not he's healthy. In leagues with OBP, I'd take him, but LaRoche's typical second half numbers will be a boon. Resist the urge to be that guy......
...That guy who takes LaRoche only to drop him before June for me to take him for nothing, enjoying the hot streak and not using the roster slot on him in the spring.
