Because of a surplus of OF's I'm planning on getting rid of two of these guys. Which one has the best chance of breaking out this year. I'm leaning towards keeping Dukes. Thoughts?
Definately Dukes. Thats if he can stay out of trouble though. Upton is a few years away I think and Ankiel is just power. Dukes helps in all categories. Please help me out. viewtopic.php?t=374328
For me it's Upton, who's still on the Griffey career arc.
Dukes is second with his speed and power, but I'm fearing a Bradley career arc (first rate hitting, second rate body).
Ankiel only enters the discussion in leagues exceeding 5 x 5 categories, devaluing steals and lessening BA drains. He also marks out higher in leagues with separated CF roster slots. Still, I have him solidly third here.
Well if it's a keeper league then Upton is the man. I think that Upton has the most headroom if he does break out, but it depends on your needs. Keep in mind that I pretty sure he'll be batting either 4th or 5th and they are wanting him to run more this year. I would go with Upton.
Well first off I'll tell you that this is an 8 team league 27 rounds and I'm stacked at the OF position. These are my outfielders ahead of these named players above...Beltran, Markakis, Holliday, Rios, Hart, Ethier. So with this depth whoever I keep will only get in my lineup if I have any major injuries.
This league is 6 x 4 with BB instead of whip and is a redraft league.
I'm dropping two of these guys to pick up some extra pitching (hopefully Jair Jurrjens and a closer).
Please let me know if this info sways your decision at all. Will definitely help in return.
If you're stacked, then you might as well keep the guy with the most upside, which I think would be Upton at this point. Dukes and Ankiel should carry some trade value.
