Thank you for the advice. I'll see what I can do with this. I'll post back if anything happens.
I don't get how many people are down on Hamilton. I see no reason why he can't repeat first half 2008, and stretch it out a little longer before he gets tired again.
I definitely buy low ('low'?, lol) on him. I see 40 HR this season. You have to find a way to make this deal or a variant.
I don't really care for both offers. The first one is still not enough for Kemp/Morneau in my book and I'd still be inclined to keep Beltran/Morneau even if the offer improved.
I was thinking that Hamilton would put up better numbers than Beltran and I like Huff because he has the talent to do what he did last year and can play 1b and 3b. Miledge would give me some speed in the outfield. More opinions would be helpful.
Hamilton/Milledge vs. Beltran is a pretty substantial upgrade to your OF, and the drop from Morneau to Huff isn't enough to negate that. I think you win out easily on sheer value alone.

I think you might be overestimating just how much better Hamilton would be over Beltran. Hamilton is capable of posting more power than Beltran by say, 35 to 25 homers, but he isn't the most durable guy either and his flyball rate last year was actually relatively low than what you'd expect out of a 30-35 homerun hitter. Beltran can reasonably go 25/25 and he doesn't hit half of the year at Shea, which kept his numbers at check, and he's still capable of posting 30 homeruns as well. Morneau for Huff/Milledge on the side is OK. It might be enough of a return for you, but personally, it wouldn't be as compelling to pull the trigger. Again, that's just me though.
