In a h2h your line-up can't get much better, IMO. I like your bench, but would like to see more upside there than veterans. They do offer you chips for possible trades, mainly for some SP upgrades. Papelbon is a great closer to have, but Percy as your only other option is scary. I would have rather used the Papelbon spot to draft a SP, and then drafted three solid mid-tier RPs instead of the best one and one of the riskiest. Your SPs are put together well considering where they were drafted. With some minor dealing and WW work, you could do extremely well.
I would have to agree with the above. You have a great lineup and I don't think you need any changes there. Your SP are also good but you don't really have a top pitcher. You have all the best midtier pitchers though so that's an upside. Maybe try for a top tier pitcher if someone gives you a good enough offer. Then as DaShizz said its scary that you only have Troy Percival as your second closer. Try trading getting a better option than Troy Percival
thanks for the input guys, but my 2nd RP is kind of irrelevant in my league. I mean, the only RP stat is saves, so having paplebon secures me atleast 1 amazing closer, and I can just pick up any hot closer at the beginning to give me the extra saves needed to win each week. last year i picked up sherril after 3 games, and the rest was history, of course until he got injured
As stated by others, the hitting lineup looks really solid. Awesome for you that Wright dropped to #7 (he's top 5 in all my drafts). I like the power bench hitters ... may turn out useful if Papi struggles. I do agree with the comment that it would be nice to see young upside on your bench. And I don't think 2 Ofers on your bench helps you. I'd drop Matsui and take an infielder, if there is a decent one left. Someone like Felipe Lopez might be nice - he could be set to improve his numbers dramatically, has tremendous position flexibility, and is probably there on the WW.
I think Bills, Oswalt, and Grienke are a decent start for a "budget" SP staff. I really like Carpenter, but I'm not so big on Duch and Loshe. And after Paps, your closers are in trouble. You say you have only 2 RP spots. But don't you have any P spots that either a SP or a RP could be placed in? If not, I suppose you only need 2 closers. But you need to keep a close eye on Percival's situation. He's certainly not as bad as some other options, since at least he's the named closer for a winning team. But he's old, and TB has a number of young quality arms who could replace him at a moments notice.
