Chris Davis/Cueto for Harden/Aviles

Postby etraum » Fri Mar 27, 2009 4:14 pm

A guy in my league needs a 3b. He offered me Harden/Aviles (2b, ss eligible) for C. Davis/Cueto. Do I need this trade? I already countered once with Haren/Aviles for Davis/Cueto but he rejected. I like Davis and Cueto, but these guys are should still be a year or two from away really being good and IF Harden can stay healthy I think I would get the better half of the trade.
'
H2H points league, 12 team, short-term keeper (keep two guys from last years draft), start 7 pitchers (of any combo) - relievers not as valuable as closers. I traditionally go the all-starter route.

My Lineup:
C-Hernandez
1b- Pujols
2b- Weeks
3b - Longoria
ss - S. Drew
OF Markakis
OF Bay
OF Victorino
DH Davis
Ut Zimmerman

P Lester
P Liriano
P Gallardo
P J Johnson
P Cain
P Danks
P Cueto

B: J. Zimmerman, T. Hanson, K. Escobar, B Butler, I Stewart, Milledge

I don't like this deal for you. At all. Cueto is probably going to be worth more than Harden for this year when it's all said and done and Harden has only pitched 60 innings. Even optomistic projections place him around 135 - 140 IP. That's sad.

Can you move Zimmerman instead?

You read my mind about Zimmerman. I think Zimmy for Harden would be worth Harden's injury risk. What do you think?

I think you could fetch more in return for Davis if nothing because of all the hype around him. I'd would want more than Harden/Aviles in return.

You aren't getting nearly enough. Both of the players you receive are relative gambles. Davis and Cueto both aren't the most proven guys in the world but they are safer than the ones you get back here.
