It sounds like it's between Aardsma and Batista at the moment, with Cordero a dark-horse to poach saves when he's healthy / if whoever the closer ends up being falters.

Rotowire seems to think Aardsma has the edge, but I haven't found a whole lot of actual quotes to back that up. In a few of my leagues with deep rosters, SportingNews mostly, I've picked both of them up until the situation becomes less fluid.

Batista is like 38 and doesn't K too many. He was atrocious last year and he isn't really impressing this year.

I think Aardsma has a shot to grab the job and keep it. He's a bit of 'post hype' guy, but many players just don't deliver what is expected the first season or two it is hoped of them.

I wouldn't expect him to keep it - but if he has finally put it all together even a healthy Chad Cordero is going to have a hard time taking the job from him.

i dunno a lot of sources have lowe ahead of aardsma, i know lowe has been bad this spring but my bet would be him.

well guess this is all settled now with Morrow selecting himself to be the Mariner's closer....
