I wouldn't be surprised if Morrow ends up with the closer job. Yeah, I know they want him to start, but he closed games in 2008 and is a better 9th-inning option than anyone in the messy Seattle pen.
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.

Corcoran had a 4.83 K/9 and a 4.46 BB/9 last season. Those are scary numbers regardless of his ERA last year.
It does seem that a common theme among possibilities is that they can't find the strikezone. And this could lead to an ugly, ugly bullpen.
I think the only way that Morrow becomes the closer is if they decide that he can't stay healthy as a starter. There is no reason to have him close this year and then move him back to a starter when Josh Fields is ready. This cycle of starter-reliever-starter-reliever-starter abuse has to stop. Especially considering he has a somewhat fragile arm to begin with.

Padres fan, I don't think you know what you are talking about when it comes to closers. Aardsma is the consensus favorite right now. Cordero is a big question mark and he is no longer good enough to take the closer role from someone that is doing ok already. Lowe is in the picture too but Corcoran is not so much. Miguel Batista is probably ahead of him for save considerations even. Judging from this thread and the one regarding BJ Ryan I would stay away from Padre fan's closer advice. No ill will toward you dude, you just have bad info that you are giving out.
I think I would bet on Morrow currently. Sure, Seattle wants him to start but he would probably fit the role the best out of all the names out there. He had the job for part of last year when Putz was out, and he has been throwing 95-97 in spring which should prove he is no longer hurt.
...however, I think if your fantasy team relies on what happens in Seattle and what their closer does...you may have a problem. I just can not see Seattle giving many save situation, and with the job currently being between 4-5 guys, I see their not being a "#1 closer" on this team for chunks of the year.
