I used a first round pick on this guy and I'm really glad that I did stll, but I'm starting to be less sure. His MRI came back and said there was no major problems with his injury, but I'm still really worried about the injury. What do you guys think?

I admit I am mildly worried. Nothing'll sap your power like a busted side/mid-section.

yeah this worries me. late last year when he had this problem, he struggled bigtime. if it weren't for the 2 HRs in the final week he hit, his september was a disaster.

If I remember right, Braun had some history of ribcage/back trouble (last year it was ribcage). I'd be concerned, but nothing too drastic so far.

Being a Brewer honk and a huge Braun fan, I feel the injury (which is the same injury as last year) could set him back a bit. He hit .208 after the injury last year. He say's it doesn't prohibit his swing and it is just tightness. I have personally dropped him in my ranking behind Sizemore because of it.
He has had this injury reoccur since he was at Miami. There was no structural damage per yesterdays MRI. What it need is rest and that is not good. I am worried he will play through it and not produce, which on a non fantasy level will kill my Brewers.
I would still take him top 8 in mocks or your draft.

much ado about nothing (major), although as a Braun owner I understand the innate 'need' to be worried about something (anything). we'll see though!

I don't like this part...

"Braun is still feeling what he called "tightness" in his intercostals, small muscles between his ribs on the right side of his lower back. He thinks he might have to manage the problem throughout the season. It's similar but much less severe than the injury he had last year during the second half.

"After having dealt with it, I really feel like it doesn't go completely away," Braun said. "I think the rest of the guys who have gone though it would say the same thing. Over the course of the year, everybody plays through pain, plays with some type of injury. It's a matter of walking that fine line of not wanting to make it worse and getting through that last bit of pain until it's back to being healthy."

Ryan Braun left Tuesday's game in the second inning with an undisclosed injury.
It might have been the strained intercosta muscle acting up again. However, Braun was hit on the thumb by a liner on the first, so it could have had something to with that.


I am starting to get a little worried.

At this point I'm hoping for a 15 day DL stint so he can just get healthy.
