Do I have room to add Maholm?

Postby Triplec223 » Thu Mar 26, 2009 3:55 pm

So Paul Maholm went undrafted in my 12-team H2H league, and I'd really like to grab him up before the season starts and he puts up No. 2 starter numbers. The problem is, I can't seem to bring myself to drop anyone on my current roster.

If A-Rod starts the season on the DL, that would clear this problem right up, as I currently have one unoccupied DL spot. However, I'm worried that somebody will come in and grab Maholm before the start of the season. Can anyone convince me to drop one of these guys? Fred Lewis is the only one I can even think about letting go at the moment...

If you really want Maholm, I'd drop Lewis. There's no guarantee that you would ever start him, and you could probably find similar quality on the WW.

I'd drop Lewis as well. Too many BN bats to begin with, so cut your worst and add a solid pitcher that I was happy to draft in my league to not give teams the opportunity to ...
C-Baker
1B-Lee
2B-Roberts
3B-Reynolds
SS-HRamirez
LF-Bay
CF-McCutchen
RF-Hawpe
UT-Willingham, Hairston
BN-FSanchez

SP-Lackey, Burnett
RP-Rivera, Wagner
P-Baker, Gregerson, Meche
BN-Motte

DL - Zimmerman, Volquez

i think id drop Casilla over Lewis. id expect better production from Lewis than Casilla. i think id expect from Casilla something like .270ish AVG, less than 5 HR, and if hes playing regular 20+ SB. im not sure where hes hitting in the lineup, but im guessing near the bottom? so that would be a negative on him for R/RBI. Lewis is someone who i think is batting 3rd for SF. he could have .280ish AVG, 10+ HR, 20+ SB plus batting 3rd the R/RBI should be a positive aswell.
Casilla could have a better AVG, but i wouldnt expect similar type HR that he had in 08 with 7. he never showed much power in the minors.
just my thoughts.

I'd probably drop Casilla too since you probably can pick up someone like A Hill or Schumaker as 2B insurance not lose much once Arod goes on DL.

Help me too? viewtopic.php?f=26&t=374067
