Trade with Lincecum and Jroll

Postby TeamMikeDeveraux » Thu Mar 26, 2009 3:08 pm

Ok,
So Im trying to upgrade my IF because its pretty weak. What do you guys think of my offer?

Give: Lincecum, McLouth, Mark DeRosa
Get: Dan Haren, Andre Ethier, Jimmy Rollins

Is this a fair offer? Do you think it would help me? I know some people think Ethier is underrated and I already have a good OF so I thought Ethier would be perfect as a 4th OF. JRoll would be a HUGE upgrade at SS (By the way, the other guy has Micheal Young also, so it wouldnt crush his SS). DeRosa was just a throw in to make values look equal.

Thanks and WHIR (My roster below)

I think it will get rejected, but it's definitely worth a try. It's not insulting, so you might even get a counter-offer.

Absolutely this is a good trade for you, but I doubt the other owner takes it

Help with my Damon and Nolasco for Granderson deal?

i think its a pretty good trade for you, however, i think its more fair than one might think.......lincecum is the top sp in the game and mclouth is for real. rollins is great but just a tad bit overrated IMO

I am weary of giving up Lincecum because he is the kind of player that can carry a team. However, my SS situation is terrible and Haren was pretty darn good last year.

Do you think I should offer Hart instead of McLouth? I have them ranked very similarly...

Any other opinions would be appreciated

I'm not a big Lincecum fan just because I think his arm could fall off lol. However if I take my own personal bias out of the equation and just look at his amazing numbers I would say that you are taking a hit with Haren. Next, McLouth is better then Ethier and obviously Rollins is better than Derosa. I think that its a pretty good deal on paper but that in the end it would work out better for you. I could foresee Haren putting up awesome numbers maybe even somewhat similar to what Lincecum will do (Haren is on a much better team as well more wins?) The biggest difference, and what makes this deal perfect for you is the acquisition of Rollins. You just better hope that the guy you are trading with has the same mindset as 99% of the other fantasy baseball team owners and thinks Lincecum will be the next Nolan Ryan, because I don't.
