Have to many 1B/3B. Need help with trade ideas

Postby hawaiistfball » Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:12 pm

Right now, I have to many 1B and 3B. I am not sure on who I should keep and who I should trade. I am thinking of using the trade to either add an OF or strengthen my RP.

H2H or Roto? How many teams in the league?

You will have a better chance of making a good trade if you look at the other teams to see who needs a 1B/3B, then see what they have that you like. Does that team have a surplus of OF??? Feel free to post the options you identify, and I'll give you my thoughts.

I would look for an OF before RP if I were you. RP often emerge from the free agent pool so no big need to trade for one at this point.

Do you start 5 OF, and that's why you have a blank at OF? If so, obviously you need to add an OF, no question.

It'd help to know your starting positions, particularly at OF and infield.

I'd work on OF and middle infield before I'd worry about RP. RPs come and go all season.

After OF is resolved, I'd look at MI. Lopez is questionable and Tejada is in the twilight of his career, so I'd try to upgrade, perhaps by offering Huff while is is at his max value.

Yeah, in the league there are 5 starting OF. I dropped Winn to pick up Huff. cuz Winn sucks and I thought that I could use one of my 1B/3B to add a quality OF.

Well Team 1 needs 1B/3B, but he doesn't really have OF depth...if he trades one to you then he'll only have 4.

Team 2 may not be that interested because Blake is just a place holder for Arod.

Any other teams needing 1B/3B? with at least 6 OF on roster.

Daniel Murphey (OF Mets) available, Spilborghs?

Both Daniel Murphy and Spilborghs are available. What kind of production could I expect from them? Also, I could even add CoCo Crisp, but I am not sure who I would drop.

Here is a possible team to trade with:
C Ramon Hernandez, Cin C
1B Adrian Gonzalez, SD 1B
2B Ian Kinsler, Tex 2B
3B Garrett Atkins, Col 1B, 3B
SS Jimmy Rollins, Phi SS
2B/SS Kelly Johnson, Atl 2B
1B/3B Billy Butler, KC 1B, DH
OF Grady Sizemore, Cle OF
OF Matt Holliday, Oak OF
OF B.J. Upton, TB OF
OF Torii Hunter, LAA OF
OF Vernon Wells, Tor OF
UTIL Delmon Young, Min OF
Bench Willy Taveras, Cin OF

P Dan Haren, Ari SP
P Joe Nathan, Min RP
P Joakim Soria, KC RP
P Scott Baker, Min SP
P Brian Fuentes, LAA RP
P Kevin Slowey, Min SP
P Matt Cain, SF SP
P Josh Johnson, Fla SP
P Erik Bedard, Sea SP

If I am unable to field a trade, is there any additional OF that I could look at to add to my team? Thanks for all your help.

I'd drop Tejada for Crisp. You won't ever use Tejada, and Crisp is good as your #5 OF.

Do you think that Crisp is better than Winn?
