Trade: Give Bartlett/Cain for Motte/Greene

Postby Grouperman941 » Thu Mar 26, 2009 10:31 am

Ended up with poor closers, but a pretty solid team otherwise. Got this offer of Motte and Khalil Greene. Since pitching is weekly, I can't play more than 5 a week, so maybe Anibal can replace Cain. I think I could use Greene's power over Bartlett's steals. I am not sure about Motte, and I know Cain is overpaying, but I am afraid of falling far behind in saves (I usually try and stockpile saves and dump closers later) so I might be willing to pay the price.

I countered for Heath Bell instead of Motte, but not sure he'll accept.

Advice appreciated. ;-D

I sure would. Just because Cain has electric stuff does not mean that he is going to be a stud. He is overrated by many. I really like Motte and have been following him forever. Think Joakim Soria.

Maybe -- but for every Soria or Papelbon, even, there are ten Hansen/Devine/Julio/etcs. who have great promise but don't quite make it that year. If Perez is a better pitcher, I'd think he would get the job back when healthy. No?
