Time for FA adjustments/pickups and drops WHIR!

Postby FantasySportsMaven » Thu Mar 26, 2009 9:16 am

It is time for me to make some moves before the guys I want are gone off FA but which ones and who to drop for them?

Here are the guys I like on FA:
2B: Hill
SS: Guzman, Andrus
OF: Dan Murphy, Snyder, K Morales, G. Anderson
SP: Guthrie, Arrodondo, Marcum, Snell, Davies, Cahill, B. Anderson
RP: Corpas

12 team H2H Yahoo league with 5x5 scoring.
Start: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UT, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P

Here is my current roster:
C: VMart, Posada
1B: Dunn, Atkins
2B: Utley, Matsui
SS: Peralta
3B: Atkins, Wiggington, Kouzmanoff
OF: Braun, Pence, Lind, Pierre, Wiggington
UT: Ortiz
SP: Lester, Lilly, Je Weaver, Maholm, J Zimmerman, Duchscherer, Scherzer
RP: Valverde, Hanrahan, Putz, Scherzer

I am thinking I need to pick up at least Murphy and possibly Andrus or Guzman too?

What changes would you make if this was your team?

Leave a link and I'll help you too! ;-D

Honestly I would keep the team you have maybe drop Kouzmanoff and pick up either Corpas or Kendry Morales. Right now your current roster looks better than those FA. I keep putz, just in case Frod gets hurt or something and i'm sure he'll get some vulture saves.

Funny and I know this does not help other than to re-affirm but I agree with this post....Right now, Corpas has the edge on the job and in a 12 team league...a pre-season closer of the wire is a score...

Agreed. Corpas is the only one that really stands out. I like Murphy as a sleeper and might grab him as well for depth. I think Pierre's value in H2H is questionable right now.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I as well, hate to affirm the other posts, but Corpas is the only guy worth getting excited about. Morales should be good this year, but really, he's Casey Kotchman with 2-3 more homers... meh.

Thanks for the help on mine.

just rehashing what everyone else has said, Corpas seems to be the guy to get here, he should close at the beginning of the season (at least thats what im expecting). If Pierre isnt getting regular playing time, which in an OF like the LAD i dont see how he could possible get in anywhere, Manny Either and kemp should keep him outta the lineup as long as they don't get hurt. I think i would drop pierre or Kouz ;-D

thanx for the help with mine :-D

Thanks to everyone for the help! ;-D

I already dropped Kouzmanoff for Murphy since Braun is nursing an injury and I thought I needed some OF depth.

Should I drop Pierre for Corpas?

I would drop pierre for corpas just because i dont think pierre can contribute anything to your team in his current playing situation, they might get him in once a week or pinch run every once in a while, but nothing substantial. I would go ahead and make the move ;-D

unfortunately for him and us fantasy folk, Pierre has no guarantees anywhere, so he is expendable... based on your roster you need a closer... I would grab corpas as he is the favorite and has all but won the job already...
