As for trading for Johan, he already has him. Why would he trade for him?
didnt go back to see who his keepers were. oops. i answered this awhile ago but he obviously is looking for people to back up his desire to draft hamels. but you get the point. draft utley and trade him for a pitcher better than johan
Does not compute. Does not compute.
Overload. Warning, overload. Meltdown in 5.
meant to put hamels. damn it baby, you threw off my game
Johan + Hamels + Uggla or Roberts = #1 SP, #1 SP, #2 2B
Why not dominate with an AWESOME pitching staff plus a not-so-appreciable-drop-off from Utley, than go after a "meh" (IMO) second SP that doesn't blow me away?
Also, I never get the LOVE for Felix - he is SO over hyped - what has he really ever done, seriously? Tons of hype, never produced consistently.
Draft Utley and some pitchers in your opinion that are "crap", trade 2 of those "crap" pitchers for Hamels, when hamels go down with arm fatigue like every other pitcher, you will wish you had Utley, Hamels has been complaining of arm issues alreday in the srping...big red flag there.
Your love affair with Hamels will cost you. Go with Utley, then target guys like Shields, Billingsley for your #2, then Nolasco, Volquez, Lester, Danks, etc. for your #3 and 4 starters.

What you've got is not the #2 2B....you've got the #4 or #5 second baseman. But, you've got to do what you want to do. You want Hamels, it is your team. Go for it. But I just don't think it makes sense.....I agree that Felix is overhyped, but if you aren't keen on those SP, you can draft another hitter the next round, and then go after the SP you like, since I'm assuming you must like SP at some point. If you are planning on your SP just being Santana and Hamels, then by all means, you must draft Hamels. But I'd be reasonably happy with Kazmir, Gallardo, Josh Johnson or any number of other guys as my #2, and Felix and that crowd are generally ranked ahead of those guys.
