DYE FOR FURCAL? WHIR

Postby Hit Factory » Wed Mar 25, 2009 11:49 am

I could use some speed and a solid middle infielder (I currently have Khalil Greene, sucks) my outfield is stacked and I was thinking about giving up Jermaine Dye and trying to land Furcal. What do you think?
I currently have Sizemore and B.J. Upton who are going to provide me with the majority of my stolen bases, (also Pierre on the bench,) but I hate Khalil Greene and I would love to have Furcal in my everyday lineup.

I'm not a big fan of Dye but how bad do you need his power numbers? You already have Upton and Sizemore covering your steals. Greene stinks, who is the rest of your infield?

In response to Gunslinger, I have power from Dunn, Carlos Lee, Youkilis and Grady Sizemore will even give me 30 homers (besides Cust and Sheffield who could combine for 45-50 homers.) My infield is Dunn-Kelly Johnson-Youkilis-Renteria-Mike Jacobs at CI-Khalil Greene MI. So as you can see I have a ton of power and could use Robert's 40 steals.

Just positionally Roberts is quite a bit more valuable than Dye. I would definitely do it.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I would do it but i doubt anyone would take this deal. Roberts is a 3rd round player and I see Dye around 5th rounder.
