DLee/RJohnson/Guthrie for Encarnacion/Nolasco? ..WHIR

Postby SpecialFNK » Wed Mar 25, 2009 11:48 am

this is what im thinking.
i give- Derrek Lee, Randy Johnson, Jeremy Guthrie
i get- Edwin Encarnacion, Ricky Nolasco.

MY ROSTER
CA- B McCann
1B- L Berkman
2B- K Johnson
3B- K Kouzmanoff
SS- D Jeter
CI- D Lee
MI- F Lopez
OF- G Sizemore
OF- M Kemp
OF- C Young
OF- Ad Jones
UT- P Konerko
UT- F Lewis
BN- C Dickerson
BN- Dn Murphy
BN- C Headley
BN- K Morales

SP- D Haren
SP- J Shields
RP- J Nathan
RP- T Hoffman
P- C Young
P- J Vazquez
P- R Johnson
P- W Rodriguez
BN- J Guthrie
BN- H Kuroda

HIS ROSTER
CA- M Napoli
1B- J Morneau
2B- O Hudson
3B- C Jones
SS- M Tejada
CI- E Encarnacion
MI- C Barmes
OF- J Hamilton
OF- A Soriano
OF- V Guerrero
OF- N McLouth
UT- J Dye
UT- I Rodriguez
BN- K Griffey
BN- J Varitek
BN- K Suzuki

SP- E Santana
SP- J Chamberlain
RP- J Papelbon
RP- B Ziegler
P- R Nolasco
P- C Kershaw
P- T Lilly
P- K Gregg
BN- J Duchscherer
BN- H Okajima
BN- J Putz

im interested in Encarnacion. i have Kouzmanoff at 3B who i think can be good, but i would like someone else good with 3B eligibility. i can give up Lee, but Lee is more valuable than Encarnacion.. so additional players have to be included.
im open to what other players could be involved.
i think he could use more depth in SP so i can offer 2 for 1. maybe i include Johnson/Guthrie and ask for Nolasco?
i doubt i could get Morneau without giving up Berkman, and i like Berkman more.
i doubt i could get one of Hamilton or Soriano without giving up Sizemore or Kemp, and i like Sizemore/Kemp more.
i doubt i could get McLouth without giving up CBYoung, and i like CBYoung more.
i doubt i could get Tejada without giving up Jeter, and i like Jeter more.
i could target Chipper Jones but at 36 i think hes on the decline and hes due to miss games with injuries, so IMO hes not worth what it would cost.
i dont really like Dye, he is on the decline. i dont like any of Napoli, Hudson, Griffey, Rodriguez, Suzuki, Varitek.
i dont really like many of his pitchers like Santana, Chamberlain, Kershaw, Lilly, Duchscherer, Ziegler, Okajima, Putz. Gregg is an option, but with him only having Paplebon as a for sure closer i doubt he gives up Gregg.

if your looking at his roster, yet he did draft 4 catchers. he wasnt at the draft instead he drafted on autodraft, and still hasnt dont anything about having 4 catchers. im sure he could easily drop one, so i could offer a 2 for 1 OR 3 for 2 type trade.

so im basically thinking..
Derrek Lee, Randy Johnson, Jeremy Guthrie for
Edwin Encarnacion, Ricky Nolasco

thoughts?

any help is appriciated.

Dang this is a tough one because I think Randy Johnson will do good in SF, especially pitching after Lincecum. I like Derek Lee and I think he will be a top tier 1B this year. I'm not a big fan of Guthrie. On the flip side, Edwin is a great power hitter, but plays for the Reds. Nolasco is a great, young SP. This one really is a toss up, but I would have to say to try and upgrade Encarnacion.

That is tough - I think RJ does well for 1 more year and I like Lee as well. But also Nolasco could outperform again, but taking a gamble on 1 good year only while RJ & Lee have proven but maybe they're past it. If you can get better than EE then go for it, otherwise a toss up.
