Auction Dollar Values

Postby Mike » Wed Mar 10, 2004 12:28 am

Hoping someone can help me here.

A little bit ago, there was a post listing different sources for player rankings. It was a great post, I thought, but now I am greedy and want more.

This time I am looking for projected dollar values for an auction style draft.

Something like CBS Sportsline has but hopefully better - I think they tend to be a below average source.

Also, I have seen the "customizable" one on USA Today. The problem with that one is that it doesn't seem to take position into account. (e.g. if you rate just homeruns, the order of your dollar values is the exact same order as the projected homerun totals, when it is obvious that guys at sparser position should be worth more)

My league is a 5x5 and plays c,1b,2b,ss,3b,mi,ci,of,of,of,of,dh
5sp,3rp

Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as always.

Thanks
Mike

mlb.com's player rankings have associated dollar amounts; you've just got to root around to find them.

TSN draft kit has about 3 different sets of $$ values. There is 1 in particular that I am using in my league this year. $$ Values for Mixed leagues. I have access to this service through Yahoo Baseball Plus, but you can get it for 10 bucks off TSN.com.

Just use rotowire.com or usatoday.com's rankings. You can customize the rankings for your league settings.

The USA Today/RotoWire one is doesn't take positions into account as far as I can see. It is only customizeable for scoring categories.
All in all, not very helpful unless I had a team of 10 dh's.
Also, I would prefer a free source.
