I just grabbed him with my second to last pick in a deep league. If you have some room on your bench he's probably worth stashing away until Figgins get's hurt. He's having a very good spring, it may be hard for them to keep him on the bench.
the problem is maicer izturis is backing up aybar at SS and we all know how fragile howie kendrick is which might force one of those 2 to move to 2B. figgins isn't good at staying healthy either. wood won't steal someone's job, so it will take an injury for him to get in the lineup for now. forget DH because napoli can't catch for now and even vlad has to get some DH time with his problematic knees. i imagine either one of the infielders will get hurt sometime this season, and open the door for wood.
I'd like him a lot more if the Angels' bench wasn't as deep. As of now, they have Kendrick, Aybar, Figgins, Izturis, Quinlan and Matt Brown ahead of him.

I think the Angels are ecstatic with his progress (namely plate discipline) but I think they'll start him off in the minors so he can continue to work on it instead of coming off the bench as a part-timer. I'm sure it won't be long before an injury grips someone and he'll get his chance.

Word is that if Wood proves he can handle MLB pitching then the Angels will not attempt to resign Figgins after this year. Someone else I think he better than he's played in the majors so far is Sean Rodriguez as he can play 2B/SS/3B as well.
That said, because the Angels are crammed with infield utility options (namely Izturis and Aybar at short), Wood is about certain to split playing time, assuming everyone's healthy (namely Kendrick).
I keep Wood hanging around on both of my dynasty league teams. Even if he's inconsistant or blocked for now, his upside at the SS/3B positions is too great to ignore. I really have faith that he will eventually get it all together and be a solid major league player.
