Who will be the better OF - M. Cameron, F. Lewis or Gomez?

Postby Triplec223 » Wed Mar 25, 2009 10:03 am

I'm currently carrying Fred Lewis as my No. 5 OF. I'm not too high on this guy though just because he doesn't stand out in one particular category. Other options available on the WW include Mike Cameron and Carlos Gomez.

I understand the BA risk w/ Mike Cameron and the other risks w/ Gomez (Avg, lack of power), but as of right now I think I have the lineup to offset at least the BA of both of these guys. My dilemma is that I'm not sure what area I should try to improve in. I feel pretty confident in my SB, but my power may be lacking at least for the first month of the season (drafted A-Rod).

Looking at my roster, would Cameron and/or Gomez be a significant improvement over Fred Lewis?

In H2H I could see using Cameron. He'll double the power of both of these guys at least. In Roto, Lewis is probably the most well-rounded of the bunch: decent BA, OPS comparible to Cameron, and then 10/20. Gomez has the highest upside of the three so if this is just a bench player I would stash him but if you want confidence in performance then take Lewis IMO.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
