Can I get a top closer for Huff?

Postby Knighthammer » Wed Mar 25, 2009 8:49 am

One owner has Papelbon, Rivera, Soria, Jenks & Broxton. He has Loney, G. Sanchez, CoJack & DeRosa for his 1B/3B spots. Can I get one of his closers for A. Huff?

Value-wise Huff should be enough to net one of them.

I doubt for Pappelbon or Rivera, but should net you Broxton or jenks, with Soria on that bubble between possible trade or not.

Sure, but I'd take anyone of them happily for him. Huff's one of 11 guys or so to raise their EQA by that much in a single year after turning 30-years-old, and none have done well that in the following season.

Huge decline imminent.

Best regards,
Johnny

It wouldn't hurt to start with Papelbon, but I doubt he will bite and he might get upset if you keep offering until the lower one comes up IMO I would shoot for Jenks or Broxton, similar value to Huff

I offered Huff for Rivera. He countered Rivera for Morneau. What do you think?

I wouldn't do that. I would counter with Huff for Broxton.

Don't know if this means anything but he countered without rejecting my offer. Also, you like Broxton over Jenks?
