Keep Braun or Wieters

Postby apz » Wed Mar 25, 2009 8:03 am

I'm in a h2h points keeper league that has a very strange keeper system. I can either keep Braun for this year and give up my second round pick, or keep Weiters for the next 3 years without giving up any picks. What would you do?

how many keepers? Who else do you have? With few exceptions I still say Braun.

We get 7 keeper points and players cost a certain number of points and a pick based on their last years performance. Braun is 4 points and a 2nd round pick. I'm going to keep Kinsler who is 3 points and a 3rd round pick. Weiters is only 1 point and a last round pick. You can keep players for multiple years at their current cost and subsequent years won't cost anything. So I could also keep Kinsler for this year and next year for 6 points and my 3rd round pick this year only. Then next season I would have Kinsler for free. So Kinsler for 2 years and Weiters for 1 would also be an option. I hate keepers.

I'd say keep Braun also, I know Wieters is suppose to be all world but he is still unproven. With Braun you know what you're getting and thats plenty of O.

Another vote for Braun.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Keep Braun, if Weiters doesn't live up to the hype you will be stuck with a scrub backstop for the next 3 years. Braun is a proven quality player who should keep putting up big numbers for years to come.
