i dont know if this has been covered, and i guess this is a good place to ask. in my yahoo leagues, under League Notes it says "Your league will begin with the games played on Monday, Mar 30." ..but the first game of the season is not until April 6. so why does yahoo say games will start Mar 30? i doubt yahoo is going to count the spring training games that will be played through the end of March/early April.
The first game of the year is April 5th so they start scoring on March 30th so it is included in weekly lineup leagues. Opening day is the 6th which is the first full slate of games.

This explanation is correct, and while the intent of the message is legit, the wording is a bit unfortunate. I'll file a bug to try to get that clarified.

So we need our offline draft results submitted by the 30th?

In order to start scoring in week 1, yes. You can submit them later, but your league won't start scoring until week 2.

A way to get around this if you're having an offline draft after that date, or doing a slow draft that will finish after the date is for the commish to lock the teams and start the season before the 30th and then add the players to the teams off the waiver wire before the actual games start. This obviously won't work with a live draft through Yahoo.

For roto it doesn't matter though right? April 5th is fine...
I don't remember it ever working like this before, last year, though my memory may be fuzzy. There is always an opening day game the sunday before the full slate of games the next day, and I don't remember needing to draft a week before the game in order to have the first week count.
Also the new draft app loves to go to a "re-connecting" screen, hang up, and cause you to miss picks when you have to reload it. Really sucks when you are on 56k (we're still out there, unfortunately.)

This is indeed how schedules have been handled in years past, including last year.
As for the draft client disconnecting, I certainly haven't heard widespread reports of this. It could be a function of your dial-up connection, as we have very few users on dial-up these days.
