Lester or halladay?

Postby ssf1234 » Wed Mar 25, 2009 1:03 am

Hi

Does anyone think Lester will put up very comparable numbers to halladay? I was lookingat a move of possibly halladay for lester w/ubaldo,clayton,scherzer... (something to increase my K totals)

any thoughts?

I think most are going to shoot you down very quickly, but if he can sustain his 94 MPH on the gun with his other supplemental pitches I think the stars might be in line. He may just be one of those guys who doesn't have the best minor league #'s in the world, but really takes off when he gets to the majors.

I can see Lester having comparable ratios and per-inning stats. But going deep into games consistently like Halladay does... not sure if he's capable of that, and not sure the Red Sox even want to find out given the depth of their bullpen.

I see.. i also was confused with the first reply becasue i have halladay and was looking to get maybe lester+higher Ks pitcher(s) or just plain more Ks. But yea that is true with bosox 'pen that they'll rely on them more often than not.

Halladay IMO and its not really that close.

I want to see another year from Lester before I buy the hype.

Halladay hands down. You can find yourself some high K pitchers on the waiver eventually

Thanks...im pretty sure im going to keep halladay since it is a league that counts CGs. Just wanted to see/keep some options out there that include some good opinions.
