Fielder, berkman, Cabrera trade

Postby plainyogurt » Tue Mar 24, 2009 8:18 pm

I drafted all three. They currently are playing my 1st, CI, and Util position. (have youkilis at 3rd)....My SP are Carpenter, Dice, Oliver Perez, Wainwright, and Lilly.

What type of pitcher can I get if I trade one of them? If I trade i can put Laroche at one of those spots.

Should i look for trade, or stick with my SP and look for pitching on the WW? Early members of the WW are Saunders, Slowey, kurudo, buehrle, wellemyer, Maholm, smoltz, garland, sanchez, zimmerman, smoltz and Penny.

Thanks all..

I would never trade miggy straight up for a pitcher. And the only ones who I would ever think about doing it for would be santana or lincecum... maybe peavy (big bounce back year). That said... you should look to use all that power as leverage to your league's weakest hitting lineup. Take him for his best starter and then some (you future CI replacement... not laroche) for either berkman or prince.

You have control here... don't undervalue yourself. ;-)

I hear ya. I have Laroche on bench with glaus, but he is hurt. Laroche put up decent numbers last yr. The best CI's available on WW are Encarnacion, crede, guillen, duncan, and keppinger. I would lose some numbers if Laroche is there every day(10-15 homers- 25 rbi less than fielder)

Should i just hold and wait until someone really needs power..

Drop Glaus and pickup one of those pitchers mentioned above?

Thanks

You really don't have a #1 starter, so I would deal either Fielder or Berkman for Halladay, Peavy, if you could somehow get Lincecum I would go for it. I am not high on Sabathia, I think he will have a decent season but I think you will overpay if you give up Fielder or Berkman for him.
